I have been interested in green energy for a long time and have been considering trying to use an alternative source for my home. Do you know of any place to get started with this?

We're not moving forward fast enough with these renewable energy policies. It's been 30 years of a lot of megawords but not a lot of megawatts. Greenhouse gas emissions have to be stabilized by 2015 (Take a look at http://www.global-warming-forecasts.com/2015-climate-change-global-warming-2015.php ).

One irony of this is that we have to ask ourselves if these wind turbines and solar panels are sturdy enough not to be blown to kingdom come during these hurricane winds.

Should the U.S. replace nuclear power generated electricity with renewable sources? Absolutely. Will it? Unfortunately, the odds of that happening anytime soon are very slim.

The utilities that use nuclear and fossil fuels for power generation will fight the effort to make this governmental policy. Their ability to influence Congress will kill any effort to make this a policy goal in this country.

Perhaps if Ms. Merkel can institute this in Germany, the U.S. may follow. I won't hold my breath, though.
